In 1967, Kaish was invited to participate in a historically important exhibition at the New School for Social Research called Protest and Hope: An Exhibition of Contemporary American Art, which included 43 American artists whose works addressed the social turbulence of the 1960s.... Kaish produced a sculpture specifically for the exhibition, titled Equation (1967). It is unique in her oeuvre insofar as it represents a shift in subject matter from religion to politics.
